• Why do you take pictures?

To remind myself that there is such a thing as uncontrived beauty.

• What would be your replacement Hobby/Profession if photography was dead?

A self proclaimed mover and shaker.

Film or Digital ? Film, digital lacks any substance or soul.

Captain Hero or Cartman? I think that’s a boy question. I say SheRa Princess of Power!

• What is your most treasured possession?

My 33mm Nikon

• Favorite photo book and/or Favorite movie?

Nan Goldin The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1986) And my favorite movie is City of God

• Photographer/s that inspire you?

Sally Mann, Nan Goldin, Diane Arbus, Richard Avadon, Mary Ellen Mark and plenty more.

• Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?

“Fuck the man and his big boss too!”

• What’s the story behind the photo below?

Matt a man of a haphazard existence. He was beat up by a gigantic woman from the Fillmore because he ran into her while riding his bike on the side walk early in the morning. He wasn’t sober if you ask.

• Any future projects or travels?

Selling and promoting my book San Francisco Bicycle Messenger and continuing my series of Naked Ladies. Who doesn’t love naked ladies, really? Also continuing to live in the world as I know it. Traveling to NYC, L.A. and in October heading to the Smokey Moutians for some back woods shit.
