1950’s Minolta silver film camera’s
• Where is your favorite place on earth?
I don’t like saying because its one of the worlds best kept secrets so I will say ‘home’ which to me is that place in which we are understood.
• What would be your replacement Hobby/Profession if photography was dead?
Something to do with outer space.
• Swimming with sharks or toiling with alligators?
I don’t see a difference. It would bite.. irony intended.
• What do you favor:

its like choosing between a foster child and a step child (B&W)

I like natural daylight for shooting, however the night is my element for connection.

• What is your most treasured possession?
I let everything go. But one time I temporarily lost a scarf my first love bought me at a hippie music festival 7 years before, and tears came, then the scarf was found in the street and I realized I did value a material possession, after all.
• Favorite photo book and/or Favorite movie?
Is it cliché to say The Alchemist? Favorite movie I’ll go with one called The Bear. It follows an orphaned baby bear threw its journey of survival and magic mushroom eating. A great photo book is called The Journey is the Destination by Dan Eldon who was killed at 21 years old. But I have lots of ‘favorite’s”.
• Photographer/s that inspire you?
Jim Marshall, Baron Wolman, Michael Zagaris, Robert Altman, Annie Leibovitz back in the day, Anton Corbijn etc etc.. and the many average Joe’s.
• Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?
Don’t put all your gear in a trunk of a car that is outside your friends’ hotel room. That car may not be your friends’ car and when you come out of the room, that car may be gone.
• What’s the story behind the photo below?
I had started photographing Coldplay when they were just breaking America with their first record ‘Parachutes’. I hadn’t seen Chris Martin in 3 and a half years when I did this past July and well, a photo in order.
• Any future projects or travels?
I do SXSW every year and that’s coming up in March. So if anyone needs anything shot in Austin in March, I’m there for the whole month.
