• Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?
Focus on shooting and not on being a snob for film or a snob for a camera whose only value is its name. Your best camera will always be the one with you at that decisive moment. Photography, like life evolves and changes. Be able to evolve with both.
• What’s the story behind the photo below?
I was in Brisbane the same time Proof was touring Australia. A mutual friend knew we were both going to be there and put us in contact. I photographed his last performance before returning to the states. He was murdered about a month later.
• Any future projects or travels?
I just spent a month in South Korea so my travel bug has been temporarily calmed. Trying to get back to Copenhagen this summer to visit friends. Zanzibar is under debate. Projects...working on another book and a show.
