I DON'T TREASURE MY POSSESSIONS, BUT ENJOY POSSESSING a 19th CENTURY VENETIAN ALBUMEN PRINT. If it became damaged or lost, I'd be bummed out for maybe a day or two.
Favorite photo book and/or Favorite movie?
movies:VIVRE SA VIE and BLUE VELVET. I don't have a favorite photo book... except for Robert Frank's THE AMERICANS.
Photographer/s that inspire you?
ELAINE STOCKI and ANNE HARDY they keep me wondering "what the hell is going on?"
Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?
BE CURIOUS, FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU LIKE (be they ideas, places, or people). DON'T BE AFRAID TO EXPERIMENT. KEEP PHOTOGRAPHING WHAT STIMULATES YOU. Your passion for what excites you will make for better work/photography, for you and anyone looking at your images.
What’s the story behind the photo below?
I HAD BEEN UP ALL NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHING. AS THE SKY SLOWLY WENT FROM BLACK TO BLUE, I VISITED A SPOT I KNEW. INSIDE A HOUSE (ABANDONED MILITARY HOUSING), SURROUNDED BY FOREST, I FOUND THIS ON THE GROUND. The title is "Jake Brown Road (Interior)"
