Take lots of pictures, get used to your gear so it’s second nature and you can focus on the image and not the technical part of taking a photo. Take more pictures.

This image is part of a personal photo project called Staple Street Project. I set out to connect with different characters and performers from NYC to this narrow and interesting street in TriBeCa.

• Any future projects or travels?

I’m currently working on another personal photo project called intimateNYC and my dream is to work on photo projects in the city I was born and raised, Lima, Peru.

I was walking down the street in Leon Viejo, Nicaragua when I saw the message on the wall. Right before I snapped the picture, I could see the cyclist was about to enter my frame and waited for him.

I am hoping to make it to Cuba this year. I’d like to start working with stroboscopic effects, but it is kind of a shooting gallery.
