Pretty much anywhere that makes me feel real small that is outdoors.

What would be your replacement Hobby/Profession if photography was dead?

Film director, architect, marine biologist or run a summer camp for teenagers

Dave Chappelle or David LaChapelle?

Had my phases of both. I'd like to see Dave Chapelle do a spoof of David LaChapelle. How about that.

What do you favor:

B&W or Color?
Color

Film or Digital? Film

Studio or Location?
Location

Night or Day?
Day

Portrait or Landscape? Portrait

Spike Lee or Spike Jonze?

Lee son. Do the right thing!

What is your most treasured possession?

dont have one, I used to have a tendency to lose "stuff" in my teenage years, so I have learned not to really get attached to things that are "possesable"

Favorite photo book and/or Favorite movie?

Book: The Giving Tree
Movie: So many! PT and Wes Anderson, Tarantino directed flicks in general

Photographer/s that inspire you?

Brent Stirton, Salgado, Joey L, Arbus, and Jeff Curtes to name a couple

Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?

Learn why film works - take a class developing your own prints. The whole structure of digital photography is built off of this stuff. Maybe im just being old and croggey but a lot can be learned from the old develop-fix- and wash if you know what I'm sayin! Shoot often, and get the chance to critique and show your work whenever you can.

What’s the story behind the photo below?

I shot that photo this year is juarez, Mexico while documenting the femicide epidemic.

Any future projects or travels?

I've been working on this project documenting the Lakotah people of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. More trips to the midwest to come.

Where can we see more of your work?

Advice for the younglings out there looking through their first viewfinder?

If you are compelled to lie become a writer or a painter, but if you want to tell the truth then become a photographer! And if its pitch black you can't take a photograph - think about it.

What’s the story behind the photo below?

IT WAS THE 4th DAY OF JANUARY, 2010 and I WAS DRIVING WITH MY GIRLFRIEND FROM IDAHO to SALT LAKE CITY. WE TURNED A BEND AND APPROACHED A HERD OF HORSES WHO MUST HAVE ESCAPED FROM THEIR ENCLOSURE. I HAPPENED TO HAVE MY CAMERA LOADED AND READY IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR. ITS ONE OF MY NEWEST HERO SHOTS. I WOULD HAVE GOT OUT OF THE CAR BUT LAURINE, MY GIRLFRIEND, IS AFRAID OF HORSES AND SHE WAS SO FRIGHTENED THAT I FORGOT THAT I'M NOT SCARED OF HORSES. WHILE I WISH I HAD BEEN 5 FEET CLOSER, I STILL LOVE THE SHOT.

Any future projects or travels?

- A Video Documentary of two guys opening up a restaurant
- Macro cross sections of food
- Group shots of people drinking at bars
